Molly from Street Giant recently popped in to check up with Nikhil Shah and Nico Perez of Mixcloud to get the full story of where this company is going:

Mixcloud is a website that helps DJs distribute and promote their mixes and radio shows more effectively, while helping fans easily discover relevant DJs and content. With plans to fully launch the site to the public September 2009, here are some special concepts they plan on adding to the site for the launch.

- Archive of previous mixes listened to
- Ability to view who listens to your mix, who's listening to what mix, what mix you're listening/have listened to
- Ad supported basic site with premium upgrade option which will ultimately feature mixes, podcasts and radio shows by name brand artists/organizations
- Ability to do limited, affordable target advertising
- No downloading, streaming only so everything is perfectly legal.

Mixcloud seeks to move people away from illegal downloading of single tracks and bring back almost the album concept via requiring 5 songs+ and streaming only, they are fully licensed by PRS in the UK which is their performing right society, like Ascap or BMI so they've paid for you, to use all your little samples.

- They say, "basically all DJ sets are illegal. By allowing only streaming and obtaining a proper performance license Mixcloud provides a safe haven for your music with an eye on de-cluttering content."

More news after the launch.
